Pinspiration Day 7 - Katie

I am just now starting to realize how much I’ve changed in the last year.  I’m starting to pull out my fall and winter clothes and finding that a lot of things are too big (I know, the most obnoxious problem in the world to have) or aren’t working for my style.  I wouldn’t say that my style has changed a lot in the past year, other than the addition of some color, but I’ve definitely realized that I’d rather have a few nice things mixed with some more affordable basics than a lot of cheap items.

This is carrying over even to my lounge/nap/dog-walking/yard-working/puttering-around-the-house clothes.  I got home from our trip to the mountains and had some work to do around the house – namely, assembling a bed for my guestroom and unpacking, while supervising two pups (I’m dog-sitting, there’s usually just one) – so a pair of yoga pants and a hoodie were calling my name.

However, I think Reese pulls it off just a bit better than I do.  I win in the color department (pink hoodie and green glasses? Check!) but somehow, she pulls it off a bit better.  Is it the sunglasses?  The sneakers?  The effortless-coolness that she exudes?  I don’t know.  I’m thinking it may be due to my way too big hoodie (what you can’t see is the bagginess of the back) or the pants that wouldn’t make it through a proper yoga class.  Think I’ll be investing in a few new pairs of yoga pants (Target? Maybe? Tag is long gone…), some casual tanks and a new, fun-colored hoodie (Old Navy) in the future.  Until then, I’ll just enjoy a formerly snug set of clothes being too big whilst puttering around my house.  And in the next match-up against Ms Witherspoon?  I’ll win.  Game on.
